Recommended Routes
Below are several routes for a range of abilities. The one-way routes will need some planning as suitable transport for the boats and paddlers will be required, other club members can advise with this.
Timings are provided as a guide based on a steady paddle with allowance for breaks on the longer routes; therefore, routes could be completed quicker if required.
The Flour Mill Loop
3.7 Miles (1 1/2 -2 hours)
Return trip to the Riverside Pub
7.3 Miles (2-3 hours)
Burton to Swarkstone.
Start at the Club, down the weir and then a nice easy paddle to Swarkstone getting out after the bridge.
13 Miles (3-5 hours)
Wolseley Bridge Circular
3.2 Miles (1-2 hours)
River Tame Tamworth to Elford
6.2 Miles (2-3 hours)
Elford to Burton
12.4 Miles (3-5 hours)
Walton-Upon-Trent down river back to the club house.
